Modeling of a low-poly aesthetic scene of a wolf in a forest
🎮 For this design, the intention was to practice a more cartoon style seeking a good aesthetic using few elements but with good cohesion. The wolf has always been one of my favorite animals, and I saw in this scene a good opportunity to model one and also rig it for animation.
🛠️ I started by modeling the wolf basically by moving vertices with the silhouette of a wolf as reference. Then I modeled the ground and three types of trees and placed them around the scene. I decided that the wolf would be in a dynamic howling position on top of a large central rock to give it more importance and relevance in the scene. I modeled more rocks and placed them around the scene. Then I modeled patches of snow for the rocks and trees. For the grass, I used a particle system on the ground using a grass object modeled outside of the scene as a base. Finally, to achieve the snowfall effect, I created a particle emission system next to the scene and used wind to make it move laterally.
🎨 As for texturing, I textured the wolf in Blender using the texture painting tool after unwrapping the UVs. Everything else was textured from Blender nodes using "color ramps" and transparent and shadow shaders.
